Things to Remember While You Purchase Electronic Cigarette

Smoking is an ancient activity, almost as old as the human race itself. Over time, the techniques and methods of smoking have undergone massive changes. But smoking tobacco for recreation has not ceased to find patrons among users of all age groups.

Electronic cigarettes are modern avatars of the age old smoking pipe. It seeks to minimize health risk by allowing only nicotine to be inhaled. The tobacco has been replaced by nicotine in solution form. The first resemblance to an electronic cigarette was created in 1963. However, the electronic cigarette as we know it today was the result of a series of developments that led to the first electronic cigarette in 2007. By 2010, electronic cigarettes constituted significant volumes of sale in the US alone, running into millions.

An electronic cigarette has three main parts; these are the cartridge, the atomizer and the battery. In many, an LED indicator is included to imitate the burning end of a cigarette. The functioning is simple. The cartridge contains a solution of propylene glycol and nicotine. The battery, most commonly a rechargeable cell is designed to provide power to the atomizer, which heats up the coil. This results in the evaporation of the solution and is inhaled subsequently by the user. The construction is designed to imitate cigarettes in appearance. An LED is placed at the end of the cigarette that glows on use.

Electronic cigarettes have risen to popularity in quite a short stretch of time. A number of people who purchase electronic cigarette do so because of the claims of being safer than actual cigarettes. However, the truth is obscure. Many have suggested that its use over time can lead to nicotine addiction. The lack of safety procedures and specific laws to regulate and maintain the quality of the products being sold in the market is another worrying fact. Besides, the law is hazy when it comes to selling electronic cigarettes to the under aged.

To purchase electronic cigarette, one needs to consider a number of factors.

•    The quality of the solution: The amount of nicotine in the solution can vary, depending on the product. Prospective customers would be greatly benefited by doing a comparative study of the different products being sold.
•    Cost: This is perhaps the most important factor that concerns the buyer.
•    Longevity: The length of time that a cartridge can be expected to last. This controls the cost to a large extent.

The internet is filled with pages that sell electronic cigarettes. The vast range of makers ranges from quacks to well regulate manufacturers. Recently, established tobacco companies have entered the fray as well, to tap into the potential of e cigarettes. It would be interesting to see how they evolve to accommodate the latest form of smoking devices. Know more about this at SmokeSation.
