Since this gas is very difficult to detect in a home and it is impossible to see, taste or smell the toxic fumes, CO can kill you before you are aware it is present in your home.

This deadly gas is very dangerous because it interferes with normal oxygen uptake for humans and other living organisms. Once inhales, this gas combines with the hemoglobin present in the blood and contaminates it. As a result, it causes infections such as flu, headaches, fatigue, nausea, dizzy spells, confusion, and irritability. As the levels of this gas in the blood increase, vomiting, loss of consciousness, and eventually brain damage or death can happen. In fact, in America, there have been numerous cases of deaths and serious injuries due to the fatal effects of the carbon monoxide gas.
